Aliens, UFOs

If you believe (or don’t believe) in aliens, why?

Verifiable and interesting alien and UFO news is infrequent, but there is plenty to read if you like science-fiction, rumors, opinions, occasional hoaxes, misunderstandings, and claims without evidence. I still scan the news. Not because I don’t believe, not because I do believe, but because I don’t really know. Sample:

“Click bait” is a big thing these days because people make money by getting traffic to  websites littered with advertisements. This feeds the fake news culture, but there is a deeper issue that cuts across everything: credulity.

Credulity is a state of willingness to believe in one or many people or things in the absence of reasonable proof or knowledge.

Here’s a quote by Albert Einstein:

Don’t believe things without reasonable evidence. Be interested, say “perhaps” and investigate. If you don’t know, don’t make something up. It’s OK not to know, but keep learning. Practice healthy skepticism, but stay open minded. It’s a balance.

Quiz: What’s wrong with the above statement?

Do you believe in aliens? Yes, No, Perhaps? Why?

  1. I don’t see anything wrong with Einstein’s statement. It is exactly how I feel. Right now, I spend no effort on finding out about aliens. We need to deal with more important things like climate change, income inequality and other more pressing issues.
