A Very Human Looking Cat

As far as the strangest thing I encountered today, a poltergeist opening a locked door in the night and twin waterspouts in Florida are both strange, but they don’t top this thing: very human looking cat. What do you suppose he’s thinking? You may recall something even stranger from last year in the Cat-human hybrid category, but it was a fake.

You might have seen some pretty strange footage of a hairless cat-like creature with a human head floating around the internet over the past few days. Well – surprise surprise – it’s fake, and a police force have actually confirmed it. The creature was reportedly found in Malaysia and featured claws, fangs and cat-like limbs, however it seemed to have a distinctive human-shaped head.

This is a latex artwork with meticulously added hairs by Laira Maganuco.

His creature can be purchased online at the modest sum of 200 euros, so we discover its species: it is a “baby werewolf”.

In any case, this may surprise you:

Cats are more like us than you’d think. A 2007 study found that about 90 per cent of the genes in the Abyssinian domestic cat are similar to humans.

Of course, we also share 50% of our DNA with a banana, owing to the fact, it seems, that all life on earth, plants and animals, evolved from a common ancient ancestor. Other theories?

  1. I can see understanding and intelligence in my cats. Sometimes they have a human look to them. I still think that humans are a special creation by an all powerful being of some sort. No specific religious bias, it’s just a feeling that I have. It is not the body, but the spirit that is special.
