Goodbye WordPress “Likes” (*mostly*)

Hello. As of today the “Like” feature is turned off for this WordPress.com web site. (Supposedly… somehow several people liked this post, lol.) As much as I enjoy this way to connect with some of you, this change will allow me to move truestrange.com to a non-WordPress.com platform in the future, if that is needed.

I have a fair sense from past likes and email feedback what is popular now and will see your approval and enjoyment by your continued following, new follows and from views and reading of new posts.

Comments will remain open for now.

For those of you with blogs I enjoy, I will look at adding a Blogroll to my web site so other people can find you there.

Thanks again for sharing this site with others if you find it interesting!

Be well,

UPDATE: Well, no one can see WHO likes the TrueStrange posts now, including me, but if you still see a like button, you can hit it and this will influence the list of the top 10 most liked posts on the home page. It’s just that a link to your site and your site icon won’t show up due to a like anymore. I thought I’d turned likes all the way off according to what WordPress help said to do, but this is actually a good thing I think. Its like anonymous voting for your favorite posts.

  1. Umh, Xeno, *whisper* I can still hit the Like button. Just thought I’d mention it in case you didn’t know…. Good luck with all the changes.

    • 🙂 Thanks. Noticed. I can’t see *who* hits it, but I can see a total number of likes. This is a fine situation, solves the issue I was having for now.

PS. Added your blog to my homepage. Thanks for being so cool.
