Dog Days
The second season of Dog Days takes place in the mythical world of Flonyard, where “Battles are decided by games, and wars are won with a victory on the field.” The story revolves around a boy named Shinku Izumi who is summoned from an alternate world to Flonyard as a Hero. He finds himself on the bad-guys side and he has to find a way back home before something terrible happens.
Yozakura Quartet: Hana no Uta
The first season of Yozakura Quartet, based on the manga by the same name, is about a town that’s overrun by creatures known as youkai at night. During the day, though, they go to school and pretend to be normal humans. A girl named Hime Yarizakura is working with a guy named Ao Nanami to rid the town of these monsters. This sequel/prequel series comes from the same studio that made our #1 show!
One Punch Man
Saitama might just be the strongest hero there is. He’s so strong. He defeated the previous #1 hero, Genos. One Punch Man takes place in a world where heroes are supposed to be like assassins, but Saitama started as nothing special and became this powerful because he can’t lose. It’s an amazing anime that everyone should at least give a try.
Zero no Tsukaima
The fourth season of Zero no Tsukaima is finally here! We meet up with Louise Françoise le Blanc de la Vallière after she graduates. She’s assigned to the Tristain Academy of Magic as a teacher, but things don’t always go according to plan for this explosive haired mage. This fun harem anime is our #3 anime of the year!
A Certain Scientific Railgun S
The third season of A Certain Scientific Railgun, based on the manga by the same name. Mikoto Misaka is a psychic student who has been linked to many deaths in the city. Not only that but there’s also a new nun named Mii Nijou who has been stalking her! It’s up to Mikoto and her friends to stop this new threat that’s running around town.
Gintama
The ongoing sequel to Gintama is just as great as the original. It’s got all the same lovable characters and silly comedy that made the first series so amazing! This one also takes place after a big war, where aliens have taken over Earth. While it looks like this could be something serious, it’s really not. You can find out for yourself when you watch this fantastic sequel!
To conclude, this year has brought some great Isekai Anime, but our Best Isekai Anime of the Year is One Punch Man.
Why do we love One Punch Man so much? Well, for one thing, it has an amazing adventure story. The hero is able to defeat anything with just one punch! What makes this so interesting is that there are some villains who are even more powerful than he is, so he has to figure out a way around it. Not only that, but the comedy is great. The jokes never get old and each new episode brings something new to the table. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that this anime has an amazing artistic style.
