How to help your teenager relax

Teenagers have to navigate not only the hormones that are flooding through their systems on a daily basis but also the stresses and strains that are placed on them from an educational perspective. It is important that they are given ways in which they can relax and release some of the stresses that they experience on a daily basis. There are a number of ways that they can achieve this.

Music – when we listen to music, we can release endorphins that make us feel good. This is a common way for teenagers to relax and to step away from the stresses and issues that they may be facing on a day-to-day basis.

Exercise – we all know that exercise releases feel-good hormones, and it can also help to relieve the tension that we build up in our bodies. When this tension goes unrelieved, it can lead to muscle strains and pain that can then translate into postural issues and even headaches. Exercise in any form can help to burn off the tension, and it can also help with the adrenaline and cortisol that can flood our systems when we feel stressed.
