These CTA upgrades will win more conversions

A call to action, or CTA, is one of the key components of your website. Once you’ve got visitors to your site, you need to think about what you want them to do. Depending on the nature of your business, you may want them to make a purchase, book an appointment, subscribe to a mailing list, or make a download. But whatever it is, by upgrading your CTAs, you can increase conversions.

Increase visibility

Visitors can’t follow a CTA if they cannot see it, so don’t let it blend in with the rest of the content. Make it a different colour from the rest of the text, using an eye-catching shade like a bold red, yellow, blue, green, or purple. You can make it stand out even more by using a different font and size of text, although avoid making it look tacky.

Think also about where you put the CTA. Don’t bury it in the middle of the text where it might get skimmed over. Instead, place it at the beginning and end.

Shorten it

Don’t make your CTA too wordy. Aim for about two to five words, with a short, simple phrase. Something like ‘Download your free eBook’ or simply ‘Buy now’ will suffice. If you are concerned about not being specific enough, a website design Surrey like https://www.akikodesign.com/design/web-and-digital/ will be able to help you think of the best way to phrase it.

Just the one

Only have one CTA per page. If you have too many, visitors become confused about your message, and this can result in them doing nothing. While there may be multiple actions you would like customers to make, such as book a service, sign up for a mailing list, and ring up for a quote, have a different blog post for each of these, with a different CTA on different pages.

This does not mean you can’t use the CTA several times in different segments, but make sure it is the same CTA.
