A visit to Loch Lomond
Scotland has many great places to visit but one of the most beautiful and picturesque is Loch Lomond. Located at the start of the highlands it is rich in the natural heritage of Scotlland. What can you do when there?
- Walking, Suffice to say, the Outdoors is a big thing to do in Scotland. There are a vast amount of walks and hikes around the Loch. It would take you several trips to complete them all.
- Bagging a Monro. Do you know what a Monro is? It is any mountain over 3000ft. Scotland has 282 of them with several around Loch Lomond. The idea is to climb them all. When you get to the top you’ve bagged a Munro. It only counts if you walk or bike it, driving up isn’t enough.
- Loch Lomond Quad Biking, like that from https://lochlomondquads.co.uk/ is one of the most exciting things that you can do. Quad biking is exhilarating at the best of times but when you combine it with the scenery of Loch Lomond it is on another level.
- Nature watching. As it is a protected site Loch Lomond is a haven for wildlife. You will be able to see birds and beasts that are very uncommon elsewhere in the UK.
- Just sitting and relaxing. All of these activities are very physical. There are also plenty of opportunities to just take in the view and have a coffee or tea.
